@ Cursed One:
For the first part, we don't see all of Primordus, and we cannot be sure if "Grothmar" isn't just a shell.
For the second part, it's unknown. I doubt it was the Asurans building too close because by the mentioning of it, the CTC is probably rather old (with it being the central transfer chamber, it mostly likely isn't anything new *new as in within the past couple decades*), and it was more or less the Great Destroyer who woke up Primordus. Though what caused the Great Destroyer to act, is unknown, whether simply time or the Great Destroyer was awoken by some force or event (Tyria did suffer through a lot in the past decade, plenty for it to wake the Great Destroyer up). As for the other dragons, I can only assume, due to the time, that Primordus waking up acted as an unintended wake-up call for the others (whether through a huge magical source becoming stronger, or by the tremors caused by Primordus and the Great Destroyer).

Grothmar and Malchor are Glint's mummy and daddy! [/joking]
More seriously, looking at the MotW, it does leave open the possibility of a connection between Glint and Kuunavang and the Ancients - it's possible, however, that Grothmar is looking for Glint for some reason (and we know the Great Destroyer made a pretty serious last-ditch attempt to assassinate Glint's hatchling even while it knew there were enemies on its doorstep). Malchor, on the other hand, seems to be collecting sites associated with the Gods - Arah, the Fire Islands and the bloodstone located there - so maybe it's aiming to add Augury Rock to the collection?
On the Desert Dragon specifically... the Charr fighting the minions of the desert dragon is interesting, especially in the context that Ebonhawke is close to the Blazeridge Mountains. There has been speculation that the GW2 storyline might involve some sort of accord forming between humans and the Charr - what if the trigger for this involves fighting together against a common (dragon-twisted) enemy at or near Ebonhawke, in a similar manner to the fighting against the Afflicted at the Eternal Grove and Leviathan Pits brought the Kurzicks and Luxons together, at least temporarily.
(Which actually might lead to a situation where the hope is, conversely, for the Desert Dragon to survive for a reasonable amount of time rather than being dealt with almost immediately afterwards like Shiro was - force the two sides to fight side-by-side long enough to actually grow to respect one another instead of simply going back at each other's throats once the threat has passed...)

Like little fingers and toes of mass destruction (they tickled Tyria! That's how the earthquakes started! Tyria is a living being! /endjoking).

I wasn't joking though.

I'm fairly certain it was more of a, you'll have to wait and see, sort of thing. Not a definitive, we are going to do something with it.
